Cornwall schoolboy scramble club held a charity motocross meeting to raise money for the handstand appeal in aid of marshall janson. The club held the meeting at their new venue truthen farm near trispen, newquay.with a fast and long circuit taking up the space of two field's their was sure to be some fast and furious racing for the spectators to see and not 1 of the riders dissapointed. And with the extra groups of open amx,and a class of a few hardcore quad riders the day was sure to be very exciting.A short fall of rain fell first thing in the morning causing one of the hills to be a real struggle evan for some of our top riders through the practice laps. But  the sun shined over the track and the racing began.

The three hardcore quad racers showed just how forceful and quick they really are.
the racing was so furious that contact was made a few times which really showed neither racer was going to back down at all.But it was the number 90 machine of D hart that managed to hang it out front pulling edges away on the other 2 racers lap by lap taking him self to 1st overall with 3 exhausting wins.
In race 2 of the quad class Matthew thomas had a problem and pulled out of the race, but a couple laps later he came back out to finish the race in third.Finishing the day with 2 thirds and a second. He finished in thrid overall.with the consistently try hard rider Tim jones taking the 2nd overall with 2 seconds and a third.

The Amx experts showed off their 2 wheel skills to the quad biker boys.Showing some extremely forceful and exhilarating speeds all day long.In race 1 of the day Daniel wade claimed the holeshot showing he wasent going to be messing around 1 bit. Also quad mounted,Matthew thomas raced the day in the amx experts showing just how high his fitness levels are.Unfortunatly the race 1 start for him couldent have been anyworse after stalling it in the 1st corner putting him to dead last. But he showed just how much of an expert rider he really was when he was soon up battling for 2nd with Leon burt. But it was Matthew thomas that took the 1st race win of the day with daniel wade staying out front taking the 2nd and leon burt took the 3rd.whilst the cr500cc machine came in 4th with the skillfull riding of Jason fraser. The race 2 holeshot was launched and and well claimed by sam chapman who was riding 1 of the older bikes of the class.Jason fraser had a fall dropping him well down the pack, but he soon showed the he could push to the front on his remedies bar race bike he raced for the second race of the day rather than the 500. as he powerd his way through the pack.Sam chapman and Gerald spiers had there own battle with each rider swapping places each lap a number of times. The top runners of the pack of Leon burt Daniel wade and Matthew thomas was neck and neck showing just how much the win would mean to each of them. But it was Leon that raged past the chequard flag first with Daniel close behind and matthew in third. In race 3 it was recently absent from the cornwall championship rounds rider Guy jacobs who took the final holeshot of the day on his friends borrowed bike. But Jason fraser was out front on the 500 but it wasent long till the powerfull riding of Leon,Daniel and Matthew pushed up past to once again battle for the final race win of the day and once again it was Leon that claimed it with Matthew in second and daniel third.Gerald Spiers claimed 11th overall just behind 10th overall Sam chapman.

The Amx junior class was such a large gate line up.Many dad's of the usual club championship schoolboy riders saw the charity meeting as a  great chance to get out on their bikes and have a laugh. The 1st race start was had with a short shower of rain  the start was forcefull with a nasty fall was had at the very front by Rob Commons causing the close behind riders having a tough job to avoid hitting him or his bike,he was soon up and going and was quick enough to join the back of the pack riders as he rode his way up through. The pack had tight racing all the way through. But it was A.P martyn who took the 1st race win of the day with Tony dinham second and Sam chapman came third.
The second race of the day was even more fearcefull but this time their was a clean start as the riders powered through the start straight. But once again A.P martyn was out front through the race and claimed the win, with Vince purnell claiming the second after a quick race.Whilst stuart george passed the chequered flag in third. In the final race of the day the slower riders of the group had a small head start, but it was only a loop untill the rest of the pack raged their way through dropping the slower riders  back.It was soon A.P martyn out at the front again. As the racers powerd their way through the track mid pack rider Daniel Yateman pulled a big wheely up on the top straight.Altough soon out front in the begining lap A.P martyn was not the rider to take the chequered flag as he took second to finish the day.Whilst Stuart george claimed the last race win taking himself to second overall.Whilst Alan Chapman claimed 9th overall ahead of his son Sam chapman who came 10th overall.

A small line up of senior riders was just as quick and powerfull as the other classes.
The first race of the day's holeshot was claimed by bradley maddever but his high speed coming down the hill caused his bike to slide out beneath him dropping him to last.Allowing Frank James Opie to run the race in first.Brad was soon back up the pack putting high pressure on to Josh bath whilst he was in second causing Josh to take a hard fall.Allowing Brad to battle with Frank James Opie for the win but was unable to take a pass.Whilst after the fall Josh bath managed to claim the third place to the start of his weekend. In race two Frank James Opie raged to take the holeshot in hopes to take another race win.But Bradley maddever soon passed and the battle for the first place spot began again. As the high paced race whent on the pressure for the win between the two of them meant contact was made. But this time it was Bradley that took the chequered flag whilst Frank James Opie came second. And craig furse claiming the fourth spot not far ahead of Ross Johns who came 5th.The final race holeshot was claimed by Bradley maddever this time keeping it up right. But Frank James Opie maged to edge over Bradley to take a pass.Whilst as running third place Josh bath drops it on the down hill.Allowing Craig Furse to run in the third spot.Whilst bradley maddever passes over Frank James Opie.Josh bath came flying through the circuit after his fall and was right behind third spot Craig Furse and josh whanted the third spot he took a chancy attempt at a pass on Craig resulting in Josh bath coming down hard taking a DNF.Bradley maddever took the race win to take the overall.Whilst after a hard trying day Robert chapman claimed 6th overall, ahead of 7th overall George white.

The big wheel and the small wheel 85cc riders raced together. As the racing began the two big wheel riders of Will Hawkins and Simon Crocker battled them self out front for the holeshot. It was soon Simon out front with Will in second and Stuart smith powering on the fourstroke 150F behind them.with Matthew winn chasing on after the big wheel riders.Stuart smith manages to get out front but soon after takes a fall dropping him back down.Williams hawkins also drops his bike on a bend. But both riders soon get back up to the top of the pack.Simon crocker took the race win.will hawkins still managed to claim the second spot. And stuart smith claimed third whilst after a brilliant ride Cameron Young took a 4th overall.Matthew winn went on to take the 1st spot for the small wheels with Ben roberts taking the second and Daniel furse claimed the third spot to start the weekend. The race 2 holeshot whent to Will hawkins for the big wheels and the small wheel holeshot was claimed by Matthew winn.Close racing was had throughout all the small wheel and big wheel riders. With stylish riding by stuart smith taking himself to a win.with simon crocker taking the second and will claimed a third just a head of alex hockey and oliver cortis. But the adreniline was pumping the most for small wheel rider Daniel furse who charged all race long to take his first ever race win! getting the edge over second place Matthew winn. When the final race of the day was underway It was Alex hockey that flew to the first corner to take the  holeshot for the big wheels.whilst Dan furse with being confident boosted by his race win raged to take the small wheel holeshot. After such a great start from hockey he unfortunately took a fall on the second lap.once again Staurt was out front and stayed there to take another win and first overall.will came close behind in second to take second overall with despite the fall on lap 2 alex hockey finished in 4th taking him to a 4th overall just behind third overall simon crocker. And Daniel furse after just taking his first ever race win topped the day with another win taking the overall with tied points with matthew winn just ahead of  ben roberts who came second and third overall. After a DNF in the final race Seb cox came 8th overall in the small wheels.whilst after a good days racing Harry Webster came 14th in the big wheels.whilst oliver cortis came 7th.

The junior 65cc and the auto 50cc riders also raced together.
The small bikes flew over the start straight with Dan roberts taking the first holeshot of the day for the 65cc class, whilst todd sawyer showed the slightly bigger lads that a bike doesent need gears to get to the first corner quick as he claimed the auto holeshot.Aidan williams found a lot of grip on the grassy wet track pushing him to the front.whilst leo kessell took a fall by the track's jump.Aidan williams went on to take the 65cc win whilst todd sawyer took the race win of the auto class on his Lem.Lewis hawkins came in second behind aidan.whilst Morgan Timms came in behind todd.Aidan williams took another holeshot as the second race was underway.Sadly whilst running in 3rd in the 65cc Oliver winn's seat came of his bike as he stood up on the top of his pegs dropping him back.Lewis hawkins charges in second and closes the gap on Aidan williams and manages to take a pass on the 5th lap, going on to take the win, with Aidan taking the  second with Henry bees flying his way all race long to take a brilliant third place.Whilst the uncatchable Lem auto pilot of Todd sawyer powers through the grass to another win.whilst Morgan Timms takes another second, leaving Archie bees to take the well ridden third.Race three was under way and aidan claimed the holeshot for the 65's once again,as did todd sawyer for the autos.Todd sawyer powered through the grass quicker than ever and was running his automatic dirtbike in 6th place including the 65's leaving the other 2 autos behind leaving them to battle alone.A quick battle started out front between Aiden and Lewis who were raging to take the final 65c win of the day.But it was Lewis that claimed it to take the first overall with Aiden taking second overall.with after 3 fast paced races Henry bees took the third overall spot.Whilst Daniel back had a lot of fun trying hard all day taking him to 12th overall.
After three impressive wins Todd sawyer took the overall With a well raced 3 second places Morgan Timms took second.Whilst Archie Bees flew past the flag with 3 thirds to take third overall.

The club would like to thank you all for supporting and rasing money for the handstand charity,And thanks to the paremedics, helpers, donations and all those that helped doing different jobs all weekend.we hope to see you all again for the next club championship round at wainhouse corner on 12th July for another great days racing.

Rnd 1, Fraddon

Cornwall got the 2008 season under way with their first championship round and BSMA qualifier at Pemburthy Farm, Fraddon on sunday, with almost 150 riders turning up at the revamped mid county track.

The 50cc Auto's saw the Roberts duo share the race wins, with Daniel clinching the first two, and Dan winning Race three.  Jake Roebuck was in amongst the action and roared to third overall, and with several newcomers to the group little Todd Sawyer was first of the novice bibs coming in eighth overall.

Maximum man Josh Gilbert dominated the 65cc juniors, while Jack Roberts, Brandon Cooper and Jake Curtis-Stevens each led the rest of the field throughout the day, Freshly upgraded from the auto class Aidan Williams was riding well coming in seventh overall.

The SW85cc race group saw three different race winners, Jack Stevens, Jack Gribble, and Steven Gilbert took a race win each, Stevens claimed overall victory, Gribble second overall with Max Wills third. Youngster to the group Bill Gribble rode a blinder in race one, roaring to the front and challenging Stevens for the lead from start to finish.

In the BW85cc class a third, a second, and a race win gave freshly upgraded young Jack Blackburn first overall, the consistent Josh Bath claimed second spot. Bradley Maddever took the first two race wins, some bad luck saw Brad cross the finish line in race three in twelfth place dropping him back to third overall. Ross Deason, Craig Furse and Harry Mills Wakely swopped places all day for eighth ninth and tenth place points.

Guy Jacobs was untouchable in the first two senior races, Daniel Gilbert gave his husky two stroke all it had, coming in second, but race three saw a role reversal as Gilbert Borrowed a four stroke machine and took the race win with Jacob's in hot pursuit. Suzuki mounted Liam Curtis-Stevens secured third overall, Wayne Back was in on the action taking two thirds and fourth overall.

A full line up of AMX saw Michael Williams roar to victory with a three ride maximum score, Matthew Thomas scored three seconds and Lewis Woodford three thirds. With Sam Chapman recovering from a recent leg operation Al Chapman (Dad) left Sam in charge of the spares van, grabbed Sam's bike and headed off to the start line to do battle with club accountant Neville Powell, but Powell had it all figured out and after a good days racing the accountant finished nineteenth overall with the spares man twenty-fourth.
